ADHD Counselling in Brentwood Bay & Victoria

ADHD isn't a character flaw—it's a different way of processing the world. Together we'll build practical strategies that work with your brain, reduce frustration, and help you feel more in control.

If you're a parent looking into support for your teen, you're in the right place. Everything below applies whether you're exploring this for yourself or for your child.

What ADHD can look like day to day

Focus that flips

Hyperfocus one hour, unable to begin the next task—and no obvious "off" switch.

Time blindness

Deadlines sneak up, mornings become stressful, and five minutes somehow turns into an hour.

Task paralysis

Knowing exactly what needs doing while feeling completely stuck getting started.

Emotional overwhelm

Big emotions, rejection sensitivity, frustration, or feeling like everything hits harder than it should.

Low self-worth

Years of hearing "try harder" can slowly chip away at confidence.

Mental clutter

Half-finished projects, open tabs everywhere, and a mind that's always juggling one more thing.

How ADHD counselling can help

Understand your ADHD

Learn how ADHD affects attention, emotions, motivation and executive functioning so your experiences begin to make sense—not feel like personal failures.

Create strategies that fit you

Develop practical systems that match how your brain works, rather than forcing yourself into approaches that never seem to stick.

Manage emotions with confidence

Build skills for navigating overwhelm, frustration, rejection sensitivity and self-criticism with greater confidence and self-compassion.

Feel more successful day to day

Whether it's school, work, relationships or home life, we'll focus on practical changes that help you move forward.

"ADHD isn't about a lack of effort. It's about having a brain that thrives under different conditions—and learning how to work with it instead of constantly fighting against it."

Common Questions

A few questions people often ask before starting ADHD counselling.

Do I need a formal ADHD diagnosis?

No. If you suspect ADHD, or you've already been diagnosed, counselling can help. We can also discuss assessment options if you're still exploring whether ADHD fits your experience.

Do you work with medicated and unmedicated clients?

Yes. Medication is a personal decision made with your physician. Counselling can complement either approach by focusing on practical skills and emotional wellbeing.

Is this coaching or therapy?

My approach combines practical ADHD strategies with therapy. We'll work on executive functioning, habits and systems while also exploring emotions, confidence and relationships.

I've tried planners and apps. Nothing sticks.

That's incredibly common. Rather than searching for one perfect system, we'll develop flexible strategies that fit your strengths and adapt as life changes.

Do you work with teens with ADHD?

Absolutely. I work with teens, young adults and adults. Parents are welcome to reach out for a free consultation to see whether counselling feels like a good fit.
