Nature helps
Research suggests that spending time outdoors calms the nervous system, reduces stress, and creates the conditions for meaningful conversations before we even begin talking.
For some people, sitting across from someone in an office is the hardest part. Walk-and-talk counselling replaces the couch with a quiet trail near Brentwood Bay — moving side by side, in fresh air, at your own pace.

Walking side by side often feels less intimidating than sitting face-to-face. Many people find difficult conversations become easier when they're moving.
For many teens—and plenty of adults—there's less pressure to maintain eye contact or sit in a formal office. It simply feels more comfortable.
For anxiety and OCD, spending time outdoors can gently build confidence while practising new coping skills in everyday environments.
The steady rhythm of walking often helps thoughts settle, emotions regulate, and new perspectives emerge.
Body, mind, and environment all influence wellbeing. Walk-and-talk counselling recognizes that healing doesn't only happen while sitting in a chair.
We meet at a quiet, accessible trail near Brentwood Bay and walk at a comfortable pace—no hiking experience or fitness level required.
You'll receive the same thoughtful counselling as an office session—just with birdsong, fresh air, and cedar trees instead of four walls.
We choose quieter routes and times whenever possible. If someone approaches, we'll simply pause the conversation until we've passed.
Coastal weather can change quickly. If conditions aren't suitable, we can move indoors, meet online, or reschedule for another day.
“Sometimes the fastest way through something is to walk beside it, not sit with it.”

Quiet walking trails near Brentwood Bay—chosen for privacy, gentle terrain, and easy access from my office. I'll confirm the meeting location before your first outdoor session.
Not at all. We walk at a comfortable, conversational pace with plenty of opportunities to slow down or stop. If you have mobility concerns, we'll choose a route that works for you.
A little rain is usually fine (just bring a jacket!). If the weather is unsafe or uncomfortable, we'll simply move the session indoors, or reschedule.
Yes. The same professional standards apply. We choose quieter routes and times, and if someone passes by, we'll simply pause our conversation until we have privacy again.
Absolutely. Many clients do. Some weeks call for movement, while others feel better sitting down with a warm drink. We'll choose the setting that best fits you each session.
